Ebook Reader Scam

Have you ever wondered why the Amazon Kindle gets so many good reviews and so much fanfare? Well people, there is a reason, besides the fact that it is a good ebook reader..

The real sad truth of the matter is that as amazing as the Kindle is, it gets much TONS more promotion from Amazon, since anyone who refers a sale from their article or website keeps 10 percent of the sale versus 3 percent if its a Sony ebook reader. Now what difference does this make?? well if the Kindle 2 is $300, and the Sony ebook reader PRS-505 is $250, a person will make aproximately $30 commission from the kindle vs. a lowly $7.50 commission from the Sony ebook reader. As jaded as the world may be, we often forget to be critical of reasons as to WHY things sold to us as they are. Well, this is a prime example of the sellers being swayed by the profits! And as a buyer, I hate being swayed one way or another without being given an objective facts on what I`m buying. Put it this way, approx. 30$ profit for the Kindle vs. a measly 7.50$ for the Sony ! That does not give incentive to the sellers to choose to advertise the Sony PRS-505. Thus the dilemma for the buyer. The exposure of the Kindle is way higher than the Sony. All because of a profit margin. 

Yes, it is true that the Kindle 2 is a great ebook reader, with many perks, yada yada. However, In my own personal experience with ebook readers, the Sony PRS-505 is much easier to read. And the Sony PRS-505 is the cheaper of the two, and in my humble opinion is actually the best ebook reader out there when it comes to giving you all the different formats you want. The kindle is stuck on you using Amazon to buy your books through them, and they do have a great selection. But still, you end up paying an arm and and a leg for a book from Amazon without having that much freedom to use other formats. Its very restrictive.

Whichever way you flow, be it MAC or PC, Kindle Or Sony, just take it all with a grain of salt, and don`t just eat the facts because their in your face.
